I dropped in to an event being hosted by the Premier League in Parliament to discuss the work that they are doing in Newcastle. Looking only at Newcastle East, the Premier League’s Primary Stars community programme is currently being utilised by 83% of our schools. Primary Stars is a campaign to inspire girls and boys aged 5-11 to learn and be active by providing schools with free, curriculum linked teaching resources. The Premier League has also invested £2,297,511 in grass roots facility projects in Newcastle East. This includes 10 grass pitches and four artificial grass pitches.
