To commemorate Holocaust Memorial Day I signed the Holocaust Educational Trust’s Book of Commitment. I signed the book in order to pledge my commitment to Holocaust Memorial Day and to honour those who were murdered as part of the Holocaust. I also wanted to pay tribute to those who survived the Holocaust and have worked tirelessly to educate others about its horrors.

A survey conducted this year by the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust found that one in 20 Britons do not believe the Holocaust happened, while one in 12 feel that its scale has been exaggerated. This shocking fact illustrates why Holocaust Memorial Day remains as important as it ever has been. I support the work of the Memorial Day Trust to ensure that the real and violent consequences of anti-Semitism and racism are taught to younger generations.
