I met with Newcastle University student Dr Xiao Han in Parliament. He was selected by STEM for
Britain 2019 to present his work on the innovative manufacturing of aerogels which are a  superinsulation material. Dr Han believes that the material could change construction industry by providing better thermal efficiency and fire resistance. If he is able to  commercialise the technology and provide low cost
aerogel products to the market it could benefit the manufacturing industry in the North East.
