I attended the launch event for Shieldfield Art Works where I had the honour of both unveiling the sign and saying a few words. Shieldfield Art Works is a new arts organisation in East Newcastle that is intending to develop a broad programme of high quality art exhibitions, events, workshops, conferences and publications.

The Shieldfield Art Works is located on the site of what was called the Holy Biscuit and has the stated ambition of engaging closely with the local community and “using art as a means of enquiry into the wider world”.
