Our friend and colleague Councillor Geordie Allison passed away in the night of Thursday 5^th March at home with his wife and son. This is truly heart-breaking. Geordie was a long-standing pillar of the Newcastle East Labour Party, and a highly respected local councillor for the Byker ward. Representing his home area on the City Council was a labour of love for Geordie. His abiding legacy will be his enduring commitment to the people of Byker. He was an active trade unionist in his formative years as a shop steward for the Transport and General Workers Union. We will all miss him very much.
