I attended a virtual climate change lobby meeting with constituents. Overall, more than 13,000 people across the country signed up to meet their MP over zoom as part of The Climate Coalition’s ‘The Time is Now’ campaign. During the meeting I explained how Labour will be pushing for an economic recovery focused on kickstarting a green industrial revolution.

The Labour Party is currently running a consultation through the Party’s National Policy Forum which will produce more detailed policy. Initially, we are calling on the Government to implement the most ambitious green recovery programme in the world. This must include creating ‘green’ jobs for those displaced by the pandemic. This “zero carbon army” would work to insulate buildings, plant trees and develop the green technologies of the future.
