I have previously written to the North East Local Enterprise Partnership on this issue. In their response to me they said that they do not have any capital funding to invest in maintenance dredging works. I have also written to the Minister for the Cabinet Office, Michael Gove MP. In my letter I have asked whether there would be any scope for the Infrastructure and Projects Authority to take a constructive interest in the issue.
