I caught up with Maggie’s Cancer Centre in Newcastle. They are an independent charity located alongside the Freeman hospital that provide free support to those suffering with cancer and their friends and families. Maggie’s provide workshops, courses, one-to-one and group support to help people to change the way they live with cancer. The centre focuses on a number of issues that can make a real difference to the lives of sufferers including money worries, help with stress and depression, managing sideeffects and relationship and family support. I heard about their work throughout the pandemic and plans to extend their centre here in East Newcastle. I fully support them in their work as they continue to improve patients’ physical and emotional wellbeing.
