Nick Brown MP MP for Newcastle upon Tyne East
I am continuing my longstanding campaign of trying to secure a solution for the build-up of silt in the River Tyne which, if left untreated, would result in the berth downstream of Walker Quay becoming unnavigable. A passable river is essential to the economy of our constituency. It currently supports over 2,800 jobs in Newcastle. Following a number of representations to government, I am continuing to work with the Council, public regulators and those with commercial interests to tackle the problems facing the river.
