I am supporting the campaign to end the practice of firing and rehiring. This is where businesses make employed staff redundant and then recruit new employee or the same employees on less favourable pay and conditions. This poor business practice reduces living standards and creates financial insecurity for the victims. I will be backing Barry Gardiner MP’s Private Member’s Bill on this, which will receive its Second Reading in the House of Commons on 22nd October.
