Also on homelessness, last Friday, I attended the official opening of Changing Lives’ 1-4 Bentinck Terrace in Newcastle. The Grade II listed buildings, formerly known as Elliott House, have been transformed from a traditional hostel accommodation into self-contained flats where everyone has their own front door. Dame Louise Casey, former head of the Government’s Rough Sleeping Taskforce, delivered a keynote address before I was able to tour the flats. I support Changing Lives and Crisis in their aim to get people into their own home as soon as possible
