I am continuing to assist those who have generously offered their homes to Ukrainian refugees navigate the Home Office’s processes. My colleagues in the Shadow Cabinet, Lisa Nandy and Yvette Cooper, have written to the Secretaries of State to suggest several actions that should be undertaken urgently by the Government to remove unnecessary hurdles to the Homes For Ukraine Scheme which I know some constituents have faced.

I condemn, in the strongest possible terms, President Putin’s unprovoked and unjustifiable invasion of Ukraine. My thoughts are with the families of those who have died, the injured and the wider Ukrainian people who are showing exceptional courage. My thoughts are also with the people of Russia and, in particular, those who dissent from what is being done in their name.
